Heavy Vertical Form lamp is the result of the designer’s childhood fascination with battlefields. Coming from a family with a military tradition, Jan Garncarek began working with bullet shells as his first material while learning the basics of metallurgy. The designer draws inspiration from the shape of the shell, yet does not associate it with the cruelty of war. Instead, the object captures his fascination with the shape and material, entirely removed from the context of war. Much like an unaware child, who perceives reality and its beauty without prejudice.
